In the woods guests can pick “porcini” mushrooms or wild berries during the proper season and take walks to the summit of the western mountains in about 30 minutes.
On clear days, one can admire the two seas of Calabria, the Ionian sea to the East and the Tyrrhenian to the West. Near the Residence many fruits trees have been planted to preserve the traditional autoctonous fruit varieties which are now becoming rare (“limoncello” apples, “annurca” apples, “coscia” pears, etc.).
Torello has mountain springs. Water is limpid, pure and very light. There are two fountains, one of the 19th century called the “baronial” fountain and a more recent one of the 1940s. This water supplies the bathrooms and restaurant.
